Chris Sedore, Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer Resignation

Message from Michael W. Howard, Executive Vice President

Dear Tufts community members,

I am writing to share that Chris Sedore, vice president for information technology and chief information officer, has accepted a new position as vice president and chief information officer at Boston University effective August 1, 2024.

Since Chris' arrival in 2019, he has been at the leading edge of building and strengthening Tufts technology services. Under his leadership, Chris brought a cohesive and strategic vision to information and technology needs on all Tufts' campuses and has deepened a culture of innovation and collaboration in technology at the university. During his tenure, the TTS organization has enhanced services across its portfolio, adding new clinical technology support groups at the Cummings School and the School of Dental Medicine, enhancing online teaching and learning services, and expanding research computing capacity and support.

Chris also developed the vision and successfully executed Tufts University's COVID-19 surveillance program during the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, he enabled the trial and launch of a COVID-19 pooled testing technique that decreased costs while maintaining quality and facilitating scalability of testing to very large numbers. This work not only supported Tufts University but enabled the safe reopening of the Medford and Somerville public schools.

A valued and trusted colleague, Chris' knowledge, perspective and willingness to share and lead, has made him a respected and appreciated mentor across the university. Chris' last day at Tufts will be July 31. Please join me in thanking him for his outstanding leadership and congratulating him on the next step in his career.

We will begin a national search for a new vice president for information technology and chief information officer and will announce plans for interim leadership of TTS in the coming weeks.

Best regards,

Mike Howard
