Kim Ryan, Vice President for Human Resources Retirement
Dear Tufts Community Members,
I am writing to share the news that Kim Ryan has announced her retirement as vice president of human resources. Over the past four years, Kim has made a significant and lasting impact on the Tufts community. She has built a high performing, community-centric HR team that has enhanced employee experiences across all schools and central units.
Among her many accomplishments, Kim spearheaded initiatives that transform the way we work and interact, including flexible work arrangements for staff, a new website and technology to streamline recruiting and hiring, a new performance management process to better meet community needs, and led the transition to a new health plan provider for faculty and staff. Most recently, Kim and her HR team introduced the Employee Recognition Hub to promote a culture of caring and gratitude for all members of the Tufts community.
Beyond Kim's professional accomplishments, her thoughtful and collaborative leadership style has been appreciated by many across the university. Kim's genuine concern for her Tufts colleagues and the strong relationships she has forged across the community exemplifies her unwavering commitment to the university's mission and values.
Kim will be staying on through the end of July 2024 while we conduct a national search for her successor. Please join me in expressing appreciation to Kim and wishing her well as she embarks on this new chapter.
Best regards,
Michael W. Howard
